Bodo/Glimt will play in the Europa League playoff after a thrilling match against Nice. The team led after a goal by Fredrik Bjørkan in the second half, but Nice equalized and Bodo/Glimt finishes ninth. Bodo/Glimt had already secured a spot in the playoff round in the Europa League before Thursday's match, but the team was chasing a top-eight spot that would have given them direct advancement to the round of 16. Kjetil Knutsen's men were among the eight teams that would have advanced directly to the round of 16 after Fredrik Bjørkan put Glimt in the lead. A quarter of an hour before the end, Nice equalized, and Glimt suddenly fell just outside the top eight again. Knutsen made several attempts towards the end of the match to try to secure the win, but it didn't happen. The match ended 1-1, and Bodo/Glimt will have to play in the playoff to advance to the round of 16 in the Europa League. Glimt finished ninth in the Europa League table, which means they will face either Fenerbahçe or Twente in the playoff. Fenerbahçe is led by José Mourinho, who has a complicated history with Bodo/Glimt from previous meetings. When he led Roma against Glimt at Aspmyra in 2022, there was a brawl and turmoil in the player tunnel. Knutsen is honest that it won't be a pleasant reunion with the Portuguese coach. Bodo/Glimt was dangerous from the start, but Nice blocked the shot in the last minute. A few minutes later, Ulrik Saltnes got to shoot from 18-19 meters, but the shot went straight to the goalkeeper, who tipped the ball over the goal. In the 20th minute, it was only the post that prevented Glimt from taking the lead. Håkon Evjen was played into the middle, and from about 20 meters, he tested his shooting leg. The shot hit the right post, before Nice cleared the ball. Bodo/Glimt continued to be the most dominant team at Allianz Riviera, and the team created several good opportunities throughout the first half. However, they couldn't get the ball into the goal, and the teams went to halftime with a 0-0 score. In the second half, Bodo/Glimt came out strong and created a huge chance just after one minute. Jens Petter Hauge made a perfect cross from the left corner that found Kasper Høgh on the back post. However, the Dane slipped when he was about to head the ball, and it became a hopeless finish. Glimt continued to push and were dangerous several times before they finally got their reward. A Glimt corner was attempted to be cleared, but it went via Patrick Berg and back into the field. The ball ended up with Fredrik Bjørkan, and the left-back placed the ball safely into the far corner. Nice came more into the game after Glimt's goal, and eventually, they also substituted in several good players. This led to the home team equalizing, and Bodo/Glimt had to settle for a draw.
