Bodo/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen has encountered back problems and underwent surgery on Tuesday. The procedure took place in Stavanger, and it was Avisa Nordland that first reported on Knutsen's back issues. He did not participate in Glimt's training on Monday, raising concerns among fans. Assistant coach Gaute Helstrup will lead the training sessions in Knutsen's absence, but it is uncertain how long the head coach will be sidelined. Helstrup, however, has positive forecasts and hopes for a quick return. This timing for the surgery may prove beneficial, as the Eliteserien has been on a break due to the football World Cup. Bodo/Glimt is currently in third place in the Eliteserien, four points behind the leading Viking. The team has an important away match against KFUM Oslo on July 12, as well as a friendly against Molde on June 28.
